THE CHATS, THE DREGGS, PIERCE BROTHERS, BUGS, SAHARA BECK + MORE ANNOUNCED FOR ALL AGES THREE DATE DRIVE-IN AIRWAVES FESTIVAL ON SUNSHINE COAST

The Chats, The Dreggs and more are fangin’ it up the highway and pulling up at the Sunshine Coast’s first-ever all ages drive-in music festival. AIRWAVES – The Drive-In Music Festival blasts off at Nambour Showgrounds on Friday 10, Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 July, complete with an ‘Outer Space’ theme.

It’s the cosmic brainchild from the creative team behind Australia’s largest busking festival, Buskers by the Lake and they are pleased to announce AIRWAVES as their first-ever Sunshine Coast event – just over an hour’s drive from Brisbane. Those eager to smell, see, hear and taste live music again will be able to drive in, park up and enjoy a night out under the stars. AIRWAVES sees some of Australia’s best punk, indie and folk performers including The Chats, The Dreggs, Pierce Brothers, Bugs, Sahara Beck and more to be announced hitting the stage across three nights.

Move over NASA and Space X. With ‘outer space’ themed astronaut ice-cream and flying saucers taking over Nambour space station, organisers are encouraging all punters to get creative and don their best galaxy-themed threads.

Known for breaking boundaries and her ‘think outside the box’ ideas, Event Director, Cindy Jensen has been carefully planning the event for months and says the driving force behind the event was an article published by the ABC detailing the very possibility that festivals may not roll out across the country for at least two summers thanks to Covid19. “Reading it set off a rocket launch fire inside me and I wanted to bring some confidence back into an industry that has been so hard hit and affected. I miss traveling and the freedom it brings and the spacesuit represents the feeling COVID-19 confinement has had on me personally”, she says.

Division 10 Councillor David Law said supporting innovative concepts to get the arts and cultural industry up and running as quickly as possible was critical.

“It is fantastic to see local and Queensland performers being offered work in what has been a tough time for our cultural industry. Using new event approaches to leverage our assets such as the Nambour Showgrounds and drive opportunities to showcase our town is a big part of the Reimagine Nambour strategy which I enthusiastically support,” Cr Law said.

There have been a few highly successful drive-in raves and concerts take place across Europe and announcements have just started for roll-outs in Australia over the past weeks. Event Manager, Joel Jensen hopes AIRWAVES will also inspire other organisations around Australia to follow suit, to help re-boot the country’s entertainment industry. “It’s not just the performers who have been severely impacted, it’s everyone from the large scale production companies and venues, to the family-owned festival hire businesses and supply stores,” he says.

The festival includes two events on the evenings of Friday 10 and Saturday 11 July, along with a late Sunday afternoon session on 12 July, kicking off at 4.00pm with tickets for each night sold separately.

All festival-goers will be COVID covered with the team implementing procedures including contactless ticketing, door delivery of the festival’s “Cosmic Crave” snack packs, hand sanitiser distribution thanks to Greenfest Solutions and constant reminders of the 1.5metre distancing by the sub-station crew.

Sunshine Coast Council have been integral in helping bring the vision to life. The Sunshine Coast is a true events destination and a place that celebrates with live music year ’round, with Caloundra Music Festival, The Big Pineapple Music Festival and Buskers by the Lake on the region’s annual events calendar.

Parking spaces on the Nambour Showgrounds shuttle deck are extremely limited and on sale now through OzTix, on the Airwaves Festival Instagram and Facebook pages, as well as through http://www.airwavesfestival.com.au/

Lovefest 2020. – Seems like not all ships have sunk for music lovers and there is one tiny beacon of hope. Its name is Lovefest in Serbia. Serbia is the only country to have big open-air music festivals this year and first ever to be held, after coronavirus pandemic started, is Lovefest. Lovefest will be held from 6th till 8th of August this summer in a dreamy green location of a small town called Vrnjacka Banja. The well-known city park lake will host artists such as Michael Bibi, currently one of the most wanted DJs in the world, Patrick Topping, Loco Dice, as well as the trio of Paris underground’s hottest producers - Apollonia. This year, Lovefest could be a good substitute for Berlin's Panorama Bar because of the artist such as Jamie Tiller and Tama Sumo, Lakuti, Call Super,  who will definitely bring that Berghain vibe. But that's not all, more famous artists and headliners are yet to come in the days ahead, so stay tuned. Ticket sale Since just today the Serbian government announced that there are no restrictions on the number of people present at the gatherings, Lovefest will be able to welcome every music lover from Europe. Another great news also is that there is no quarantine required in Serbia so this could be your destination to go this summer. Also, from Monday, June 8th, it will be possible to buy three days tickets - regular ticket package costs 34 euros, and the VIP ticket for all three days is 69 euros. That will be possible via www.lovefest.rs, tibbaa.com, and Resident Advisor. “Play it right” In accordance with the situation in the world, Lovefest has decided to “Play it right” this year, and fitted the slogan of this year's edition properly. In that way, they invite visitors to behave responsibly and in accordance with the measures. Fast facts about Lovefest  Lovefest is an electronic music festival that hosts more than 75.000 people in three days each year, and this year will be its 14th edition. The festival has five music stages and more than 150 artists hosting every summer. Only last year, the festival hosted huge names such as Jamie Jones, The Martinez Brothers, Marco Carola, Richie Hawtin, Seth Troxler, Joseph Capriati, and many upcomers such as Enrico Sangiuliano.  In case you have not yet chosen your summer destination, a substitute for sunny beaches, and warm sea could definitely be Lovefest and of course Serbia’s capital that never ever sleeps Belgrade.

GEM Festival 2020 brings 3 Days and 3 Nights of nonstop music and entertainment, across 4 Stages. With the recent announcement that Greece will be opening up to travel and tourism in June, we are delighted to announce this year’s edition of the festival will be going ahead as planned.
Created in 2015 the Festival took place on the beautiful beach of Black Sea pearl, Anaklia. This year it returns, breaking from mainland Europe to rise again from the 7th to 9th of August in InIonian Sea, on the Greek island of Zakynthos.
GEM Festival brings together Artists, DJ’s and ravers in a breathtaking location. Drawing on acts from the full spectrum of electronic sounds this year’s edition can reveal the first wave of acts. Blending mainstage headliners like ATB, Paul Van Dyk and Swanky Tunes with the next generation of headliners Romeo Blanco, CJ JEFF, The YellowHeads. Alongside underground leaning acts such as Lamine, dOP (Live), Onur Ozer as well as respected local talent K.Atou, George Seragos and Mr. Roussos. With only 50% of the line up announced so far there’s plenty more to come, and with previous editions line ups anything to go by you can expect Big Room, Techno, House and Minimal artists to follow ensuring all tastes are covered.
Now in its 5th edition Gem Festival brings its considerable experience to the fore having previously hosted the likes of Armin Van Buuren, Luciano, Solomun, Paul Kalkbrenner, Axwell & Ingrosso, Fedde Le Grand, Steve Aoki, Boris Brejcha, Stephan Bodzin, Anja Snijder, David August, Mano Le Tough, Tales of Us, Dubfire + alongside many others, so you know there is a more still to be revealed…
With picturesque white sandy beaches, clear blue seas, you can get lost in your own adventure when taking a break from the festival. immerse yourself in the Mediterranean lifestyle indulging in fine food, wine. A short journey across the water takes you to the mystical island of Marathonisi, where Turtles hatch. The National Marine park allows you to explore enchanting protected wildlife. Inland you can hike in Askos Stone Park, a stunning expanse of nature and local wildlife. Or discover the local history in the surrounding towns and villages.
For accommodation options we offer our tent city which we call “harmony village” , besides that Zakynthos has plenty of options of accomodation, from hostel dorms to luxury villas and even luxury yachts floating next to the festival. During the three days and nights we provide free buses to the venue. Starting from the airport, ports and the different resorts along the coast line, ensuring you can travel safely to and from GEM. With regular international flights, 7 daily ferries from Athens and Greece open to travelers from the 15th of June, Zakynthos is easily accessible.
For those returning to us, the new festival location will retain the spirit and unique sense of togetherness that can only be found at GEM. And for  those joining us for the first time this edition of our festival is the most inspiring and exciting in memory, one which can never be forgotten.

A spectacular two-day digital music festival experience, bringing together the planet’s biggest names in electronic dance music and the world’s best technology in 3D design, video production and special effects. Just imagine... a dazzling new Tomorrowland location has been crafted over the past few months, in a place far away from anyone, a place that you would normally never visit... but one that is set to open its doors, welcoming everyone from all corners of the world, for one weekend only… On Saturday, July 25th and Sunday, July 26th, Tomorrowland will host their first 3D digital festival edition, titled ‘Tomorrowland Around The World’. People of all ages and places are invited to join the spectacular festival experience. Without limitations of borders or boundaries, the two-day event is a world premiere and a major step in the future of music festivals.  Over recent months, Tomorrowland has received many requests from its worldwide community to do something special during the two sold-out weekends of Tomorrowland Belgium. This global connection has inspired Tomorrowland to introduce and create a brand new platform through which visitors can participate in an unprecedented two-day festival experience with the world’s first interactive 3D festival experience. Festival visitors will be able to navigate easily through a magical and newly created Tomorrowland location with a PC, laptop, smartphone or tablet – you don’t need special VR goggles – and explore the entire festival site in an interactive way together with friends. The two-day festival weekend will offer its guests a packed schedule with plenty of things to do, see and experience.  As with the other editions of Tomorrowland, music and spectacular shows will be central to this event. The world’s best technologies in gaming, 3D design, video production and special effects will bring together 8 different stages including Atmosphere, Core, Freedom Stage and Elixir, joined by 3 new stages, which have been specially created and designed by the creative team and 3D artists behind Tomorrowland. Each stage will feature music from the world’s best artists in dance and electronic music – from all genres – and a large portion of the fireworks and laser shows characteristic of Tomorrowland. As icing on the cake this year’s iconic Mainstage, embodying the theme of 2020 ‘The Reflection of Love – Chapter 1’, will be unveiled to the world during Tomorrowland Around The World.  Besides the performances, there will be all kinds of interactive experiences to choose from, including inspirational webinars, games and workshops related to lifestyle, food, fashion and the Tomorrowland Foundation. Together with the performances, Tomorrowland Around The World will be a full day/weekend experience between 15h00–01h00 CEST. There will be a ‘time-zone-friendly’ option for visitors from Asia and North or South America. Michiel Beers, co-founder of Tomorrowland: “Tomorrowland Around The World is the result of a gigantic team effort of hundreds of people who are working around the clock to create a never-before-seen interactive entertainment experience. Since we started this project and all ideas came together, we immediately felt an enormous energy and lots of positivity from everybody involved. For us it’s a bit re-inventing the festival experience, but we truly believe that we can bring the spirit of Tomorrowland and entertainment at the highest level to people and homes around the globe. We hope that hundreds of thousands of people will unite in a responsible way and that small Tomorrowland gatherings at people’s homes – from Canada to Australia, from Japan to Brazil and everywhere in between – will be organised. Especially during the weekend where normally Tomorrowland Belgium would take place, we really have the power to unite the world.” The People of Tomorrow are invited to experience this unique event together with friends: dressing up with your best festival outfit, putting up tents in your back garden to create your own DreamVille, setting up a big screen, inviting your beloved ones for a nice barbecue with music and an amazing festival experience, decorating your balcony or throwing a party in your living room – this weekend is all about uniting through the power of music in a responsible and safe way. More about this all-new Tomorrowland location will be revealed in the coming weeks. Stunning New Film ‘This is Ibiza’ Takes You Deep Into the Dance Music Capital of the World

by the partae June 4, 2020
written by the partae
This is Ibiza is a brand new and behind the scenes look at Ibiza, out to rent or buy June 5th on Amazon Prime. The sun soaked Balearic Island is the dance music capital of the world, where hedonism and world class clubbing experiences collide in a place of stunning natural beauty. Three years in the making by Directors Jody Hall and Mindaugas Volkis and hosted by Jermaine Whitehead-Bailey, you can watch a trailer for the movie here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dN–xj_ii9k&feature=youtu.be
This is Ibiza is a unique window into a fantasy-like paradise that really conveys the magic of the island, how it became what it is and what it is like to be there. This immersive and authentic new film will take you on a special tour to one of the most famous (and infamous) islands in the entire world, where an extraordinary mix of night-life hedonism and spiritual evolution create a unique culture of dance, music and love.
With its mega clubs, breathtaking villas, once in a lifetime nights out, white sand beaches, world famous sunset parties and woodland hideaways, Ibiza has got a lot of negative press and media exposure, good and bad, over the years. This new film has a firm focus on the ever present spirit of freedom, love and music that made the electronic music explosion possible here, and then around the world. The White Isle is where it all started and is one of the few places on the planet where diversity does not bring conflict. All people are in harmony and truly coexist in true harmony.
This fascinating new film consists of insightful interviews with the owners of the biggest brands and venues here as well as the new businesses. The likes of Elrow, Defected, Pacha, O Beach Ibiza, Chuckie, The Zoo Project, Sam Divine, Marco V, Darius Syrossian, Nick Warren, Lovely Laura, Eden Ibiza, Ibiza Club News, Café del Mar Ibiza, ANANESWORLD, DJ Sneak, Judge Jules, Pikes Ibiza and many more all feature.
There are also voices such as the locals, upcoming DJs, music loving clubbers and the VIP clientele who have all been involved in Ibiza’s evolution and rich story over the years. Interviews are illustrated with the activities inside the clubs, retreats, nature, boat trips and plenty more to give a real sense of history past and present. The whole film has a majestic melodic house vibe and the majority of the documentary soundtrack comes from talented Scottish producer and Ibiza resident James iD.
This is Ibiza is out to rent or buy June 5th on Amazon Prime with a launch party on June 5th at Sunset Ibiza in San Antonio.

Like many organisations in the creative industries, Open House Melbourne is making dramatic adjustments to the Open House Melbourne Weekend announced for Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 July in addition to July programming.  The 2020 program will not open the physical doors to the city’s most significant buildings, but instead it will unlock the incredible enthusiasm, creativity and knowledge of many building hosts, architects and designers who support the program year-on-year. 2020 will be a time for reflection, for contemplation, and for reimagining our city.  "It is an opportunity to ensure that the next generation of construction and of protection of our built environment centres around good design principles – providing long term financial value, protection of our precious environment, supportive of our needs, whilst creating inspiring and cherished spaces for us all to work and live in. Good design always needs to be an intrinsic part of all our built environment decisions,” says Tim Leslie, Interim Co-Executive Director of Open House Melbourne.  The digital program will engage online audiences in architecture and design events leading up to a hive of activity during the Open House Weekend.  The program elements will include streamed live talks and presentations, including annual highlights like the Speaker Series, where a number of experts present their design process behind built outcomes, and the Heritage Address – a thought-provoking look at the role heritage plays in our cities presented in collaboration with the Heritage Council of Victoria.  The highlight of the 2020 digital Weekend will be the immersive experiences embedded throughout a program of virtual building tours. Special programming at return sites like Australian Tapestry Workshop, Jack's Magazine, Villa Alba Museum and Waller House and more will be revealed in an exciting announcement that will reimagine some of the city’s much-loved heritage buildings.  The full program of buildings and digital events will be announced in July. Expect some familiar faces and hard to reach places.  A predominantly digital Open House Melbourne experience provides a unique opportunity to do things differently; to engage with new collaborators and reach new audiences – no longer subject to large crowds, queues or inclement weather. In fact, the digital program will provide greater access and larger audiences to spaces once limited by opening hours, groups sizes or security concerns.  Open House Melbourne 2020 is a chance to experience the city from anywhere across Victoria, or around the world. It is a wonderful opportunity to share and celebrate one of the world’s most liveable cities.  Open House Melbourne is an independent organisation that fosters public appreciation for architecture and public engagement in design in the built environment. We exist because we believe a more engaged public will result in better design outcomes for our buildings, our streets and our cities. We are registered as a charity (as Melbourne Open House Inc) with the Australian Charities and Not-For-Profits Commission ABN 68295482310, we are part of the Open House Worldwide network, and we are an initiative of the Committee for Melbourne Future Focus Leadership Program.  Image caption: Open House Weekend, 2019. Moviendo el Mundo: A solidarity project launched by PLURTV for all Latin America.

by the partae June 2, 2020
written by the partae

“Moviendo el Mundo” is a PLURTV solidarity project in collaboration with all Latin American countries for helping professionals on the scene in situations of vulnerability. At the same time, it allows to canalice the delivery of humanitarian aid to all the countries where it is present.

These are difficult times for the scene across the whole planet. One of the most affected by this huge crisis is the scene in Latin America, mostly due to the null involvement by governments in proposing solutions for professionals in the leisure sector. This means that artists, clubs and independent promoters who have been working for years in a very professional manner are now even on the verge of bankruptcy or closure due to the high costs of rent or staff salaries.

It is because of this reason that “Moviendo el Mundo” is born: a project that seeks to create sustainability on the continental scene based on union, respect and solidarity, allowing the most vulnerable ones to have an opportunity for not bankrupting, and the most stable ones to give a hand to their colleagues so they can go on.

Simultaneously, the project will also work closely with all the countries involved, through local and trustworthy organizations to deliver essential products to vulnerable families.

The first Moviendo el Mundo event will be a combined event from several countries: Dominican Republic (Tanama), Honduras (Retune), Costa Rica (Garito Tamarindo) and Panama (La Buat)

We have 2 international brands invited that will be in solidarity: Sight (Barcelona / Spain) and Meet Festival (RD / Spain). They will donate their corresponding part to support the countries of the event.

More info about the Project in this link: https://www.moviendoelmundo.plurtv.com/anexo

You can now make your contribution with the purchase of the ticket at the following link.

It will be hosted by Nova’s TIM BLACKWELL, together with radio legend JANE GAZZO – Jane will be hosting from the Australian Music Vault, located within Arts Centre Melbourne. Out front of band Leonardo’s Bride, ABBY DOBSON sung the classic ‘Even When I’m Sleeping’, which won the APRA for ‘Song of the Year’ in 1997. She’s dueted with Neil Finn, Daniel Johns, Alex Lloyd, Mark Seymour, Paul Mac and more, plus written singles for hit TV series such as “The Secret Life Of Us”. Two solo albums in, Abby is soon to release her third album with her delicious side-project, Baby et Lulu, in which she writes and sings in French. From her rural VIC hometown to Melbourne, Sydney and Los Angeles, singer/songwriter D’ARCY SPILLER has a voice that could shuck the most brittle heart. Tender compositions such as current single ‘Deep Black Sea’ (released in line with her triple j Unearthed Feature Artist spot) will appear on her upcoming debut EP, Little Demons, due out on 12 June which was recorded with producers JP Fung (Birds of Tokyo), Chris Collins (Middle Kids) and John Lee (Beaches). With the release of his latest single ‘Good Man’, FERGUS JAMES has delivered a captivating follow-up to his acclaimed 2019 debut EP, All Of The Colours. Handpicked by Ed Sheeran to open his 2018 Australian stadium tour, James also took out triple j’s 2019 Unearthed Splendour in the Grass competition. The multi-faceted young artist is ready to take on the world – first, catch him live on Episode Five this week. With a career spanning 25 years and a rich musical history steeped in jazz, blues and soul, multiple ARIA nominee and APRA winner JADE MACRAE has come full circle in 2020. Having spent the last three years touring the world with US blues great Joe Bonamassa, next month the soulful MacRae will release her new album, titled Handle Me With Care, with current single ‘Midnight Air’ out now. JOE CAMILLERI has been integral to Australian music since 1975 when he fronted Jo Jo Zep And The Falcons, and almost a decade later formed THE BLACK SORROWS who have sold more than two million albums worldwide on the back of bona fide hits such as ‘Hold Onto Me’, ‘Chained To The Wheel’ and ‘Harley & Rose’. Camilleri, who was recently awarded “living legend” status by Rolling Stone, transformed The Black Sorrows from humble beginnings into one of the most sophisticated and successful ensembles in the country averaging over 150 shows in Australia every year and since 2014 have included Europe on their touring schedule. The infectious performances by Sydney brothers and duo LIME CORDIALE have been enthusiastically received in Australia and abroad, the band even scoring an international management deal with Post Malone. In 2019’s triple j Hottest 100, they were the only act to land four songs (‘Robbery’, ‘Inappropriate Behaviour’, ‘Money’ and ‘I Touch Myself’) in the countdown’s Top 40. Lime Cordiale will release their second album 14 Steps To A Better You on 10 July. For Grammy-nominated Sydney trio MANSIONAIR, the sky's the limit. Their stunning debut album, Shadowboxer, has spawned multiple ARIA gold-certified singles in Australia, while the band’s global streaming numbers are at an impressive 250 million and counting. With several ARIA and Billboard charting singles and major tour support slots (CHVRCHES, Florence & The Machine, Carly Rae Jepsen, London Grammar) under their belts, the band’s talents are clearly evident, as heard on most recent single, ‘Easier feat SHAED’ MITCH KING began busking in his hometown of Mt Tamborine at 15. In 2014, he self-released debut A Life Under The Sun, with single ‘Coming Back’ which was adopted by US football team the Green Bay Packers. 2016 EP Southerly Change topped ARIA’s Blues chart, while recent single ‘Burning’ hit 2.5m+ streams. He’s supported Tones and I, America The Band and more, and is currently writing new music with names such as Diesel, the Pierce Brothers and members of The Temper Trap. Listen to his new single, ‘Time Stands Still’, out now. Best known as the frontman of Jet, NIC CESTER is based in Milan, Italy, where he’s carving out a hugely successful solo career off the back of his debut solo album, Sugar Rush. Expect a live album with his incredible band The Milano Elettrica in 2020. He’s also one of the vocalists for The Jaded Hearts Club, a supergroup with members Miles Kane (The Last Shadow Puppets), Matt Bellamy (Muse), Graham Coxon (Blur), Jamie Davis (Transcopic), and Sean Payne (The Zutons). English-born, Sydney raised singer/songwriter ODETTE is quickly accelerating to become one of our most interesting pop newcomers. Her 2019 debut album, To A Stranger, was bold and confident, mixing soul and jazz influences on singles such as ‘Take It To The Heart’ and ‘Feverbreak’. Her intoxicating sound can be heard this week when she makes a special appearance with The Rubens on The State of Music. NSW five-piece THE RUBENS have toured with the likes of P!NK and Bruce Springsteen, won the triple j hottest 100 + multiple awards (including APRAS and a J Award) and smashed radio airplay nationwide with their hit album LO LA RU (2018). The band recently celebrated single ‘Live In Life’ going Platinum (17+ million streams), while current single ‘Heavy Weather’ is on high rotation at triple j. Catch the band when they head out on their biggest headline tour to date, Sept-Dec this year. Melbourne trio SOMETHING FOR KATE will release their long-awaited seventh album in 2020 – incredibly, their first full-length since 2012. It’s led by the excellent new single ‘Situation Room’. Paul Dempsey, Stephanie Ashworth and Clint Hyndman are one of Australia’s best-loved bands, with five albums to date debuting in the Top 5 of the ARIA Album Chart. They join us this week for a special performance filmed in the gorgeous State Drawing Room at Melbourne’s Government House. The State Of Music is a weekly livestream created by Mushroom Group in partnership with the Victorian Government’s Victoria Together initiative. Episode Five will star THE RUBENS + performances by (in alphabetical order):
ABBY DOBSON, D’ARCY SPILLER, FERGUS JAMES, JADE MACRAE, JOE CAMILLERI & THE BLACK SORROWS, LIME CORDIALE, MANSIONAIR, MITCH KING, NIC CESTER & THE MILANO ELETTRICA, ODETTE, and SOMETHING FOR KATE, the band playing inside the State Drawing Room at Melbourne’s Government House.

For Grammy-nominated Sydney trio MANSIONAIR, the sky’s the limit. Their stunning debut album, Shadowboxer, has spawned multiple ARIA gold-certified singles in Australia, while the band’s global streaming numbers are at an impressive 250 million and counting. With several ARIA and Billboard charting singles and major tour support slots (CHVRCHES, Florence & The Machine, Carly Rae Jepsen, London Grammar) under their belts, the band’s talents are clearly evident, as heard on most recent single, ‘Easier feat SHAED’

MITCH KING began busking in his hometown of Mt Tamborine at 15.

Following the colossal success of Untitled Group’s inaugural Virtual Day Party, which saw more than half a million households tune in globally, Untitled Group have just announced a second edition featuring Hayden James, Dj Boring, Lastlings, Made in Paris, Cassettes For Kids and Adult Art Club.

Stepping it up a notch this time, Untitled Group have carefully curated a unique showcase of notable Australian landmarks. The first is the beautifully historic Old Melbourne Gaol, place of demise for infamous Australian criminal Ned Kelly, now given new life as the backdrop for some of our most exciting young talents. Up next is the scenic abandoned artillery, Henry Head Battery, with headliner Hayden James performing a special cliff-edge sunset set with sprawling ocean views. Last, but very not least is the monumental 8400sqm Avalon Airport Hangar which will be fully kitted out with Untitled’s signature expanse of impressive lighting and production.

While Untitled Group has chosen to make the Virtual Day Party a free stream available to all, the same production expenses apply that would for a traditional Untitled day party. Untitled Group’s aim is to keep live music alive and continue to provide these amazing opportunities for artists & fans alike, however it is not sustainable. When watching the stream there will be an optional link to support the stream or you can contribute here.

The Virtual Day Party will take place on Saturday 30th of May and can be streamed via Untitled Group’s facebook page. Sign up here to go into the draw to win a Season Pass to all Untitled events for 1 year + a Virtual Meet & Greet with an artist on the lineup, a $1,000 Lee Jeans Wardrobe, a Jimmy Brings Alcohol Delivery voucher, a Grill’d voucher, JBL speakers and headphones and limited edition merch.

Hayden James:

It took award-winning music producer Hayden James one song to become a sound of the Australian summer. ‘Something About You’, released in the heat of December 2014 by Future Classic, lit up the pop music scene and gained Gold Certification in Australia. Today the artist’s electronic pop music has hooked a global audience on his sound, with a collection that has amassed over half a billion streams.

Following the release of ‘Something About You’, Hayden James played sold out venues world-wide while producing tracks for Katy Perry. October 2017 marked the release of ‘Numb’ featuring GRAACE, which scored Platinum certification in Australia and landed at #32 on Triple J’s Hottest 100.

Hit singles “Better Together” featuring Running Touch and ‘Just Friends’ featuring singer Boy Matthews sealed 2018 as Hayden James’ break out year, leading into his long-awaited debut album ‘Between Us’ in June 2019 cemented Hayden as one of Australia’s most influential pop producers, leading to an ARIA Nomination for Best Male Artist.

DJ Boring

Following a stand-out set at Untitled Group’s Pitch Music & Arts earlier this year and having one of the most watched Boiler Room’s of 2019, Dj Boring joins the Virtual Day Party lineup being filmed from the Avalon Airport Hangar. DJ BORING aka Tristan Hallis could be the most ironically named performer today: energetic journeys into forgotten gems and future classics, nothing about what he does is boring.

Lastlings

In 2018, the mystique surrounding Lastlings expanded as their live show caught the attention of Australian electronic heavyweights RÜFÜS DU SOL, signing the duo to their newly founded label Rose Avenue Records, and welcoming three substantial singles that included ‘Deja Vu’, ‘I’ve Got You’ and ‘Last Breath’. Previously selling out Australian headline tours, supporting the likes of Two Door Cinema Club and RÜFÜS DU SOL, while earning spots on esteemed music events; Coachella’s DoLaB and Splendour In The Grass and Beyond The Valley, Amy and Josh are no strangers to the world’s biggest stages.

Made in Paris

Closing 2019 with her most anticipated single ‘Pursuit’, Made in Paris has dominated radio with full rotation and 100+ spins on Triple J, taking top 30 positions weekly on the Australian Shazam Chart and adds to Spotify editorial playlists globally. From her three USA tours to Australia’s most acclaimed warehouses alongside Stephan Bodzin on his 2019 Australian tour, Pitch Music Festival, Beyond The Valley and Splendour In The Grass, the Sydney artist depicts a true deep and dark production journey from studio to stage. Paris has entrapped enthusiasts within the industry from Maceo Plex and Township Rebellion to Joseph Capriati’s techno allure, with a globally acclaimed Mixmag, BBC Radio 1 and her most recent Triple J Mix Up Residency, making her a solid staple.

Cassettes For Kids

Cassettes for Kid’s trademark blend of high energy house, breaks has seen a swift trajectory to the forefront of local dance music. He’s already dominated festival stages at Pitch Music and Arts, Strawberry Fields, Lost Paradise, Duke Street Block Party as well as headlining Australia’s best clubs – XE54, Universal & more. An extremely trusted selector, he has warmed dancefloors for the likes of Denis Sulta, DJ Koze, KiNK, KETTAMA, HAAi, Black Loops, ANNA, John Talabot and many more.

Adult Art Club

Mysterious Australian duo Adult Art Club have been teasing local experimental electro dance fans with some rare gems released sporadically over the past few years. Low slung, sinister vibes, soul shifting drops and crunchy samples bring an earthy vibe to the floor, with earth shaking lows and psychedelic highs, this duo are like manna from heaven for the more adventurous dance floor dwellers around the country. A treat for this year’s Beyond The Valley, Adult Art Club will have the sold out masses vibrating hard to their dank minimalism.

Thank you.

Untitled Group would like to thank our videographers, photographers, production and suppliers who all contributed to making these streams come together.

BOOTLEG RASCAL UNVEIL SANGUINE NEW SINGLE ‘WE INDEPENDENT’

by the partae May 22, 2020
written by the partae

PRAISE FOR ‘WE INDEPENDENT’

“It’s always a good time mixing it with you guys and this one will get anyone in a good mood”.
Declan Byrne – triple j (AUS)

“Bootlegs delivering an ode to self-reliance and defiance. Good rhyme, better song”.
Dave Ruby Howe – triple j Unearthed (AUS)

Added to Spotify’s ‘New Music Friday (AU/NZ)’ and ‘Indie Arrivals’ playlists

Featured by NME Magazine

Bootleg Rascal have just revealed their spaced out and infectious new single ‘We Independent’ – produced by the band themselves and long-time collaborator Ian Pritchett (Boo Seeka, Kim Churchill, Angus and Julia Stone), and Simon Dobson (Little May, STUPID BABY).

‘We Independent’ continues down the path of sonic exploration the duo has been carving out since the revamp of the project in mid-2019. Opening with a groove-laden progression, the lush vocals of front man Carlos Lara lead into an endearing sing-a-long chorus, that soars with its combination of resounding drums, steadfast bass, jangly guitars and hypnotic brass.

“’We Independent’ is a track we wrote inspired by starting to remove ourselves from a toxic situation”, says guitarist Jimmy Young. “Initially, we were unsure how to break away from it, but sometimes you have to say enough is enough and follow your intuition. We’re so glad we took that leap of faith and couldn’t be heading in a better direction because of taking that risk”.

While the band is forced off the road, Lara and Young are currently in the studio working on a forthcoming staggered EP titled ‘Collaborations of Very Isolated Delinquents “19’, where from May through till September, the group will release a new track each month, with ‘We Independent’ being the first offering. The band’s most recent single ‘Lonely Times‘ will also feature on the record.

“While we can’t tour, Jim and myself thought it could be cool to set ourselves a challenge of dropping a new track each month and tie it all into a conceptual EP,” says Lara. “The record is set to be heavily influenced by what’s currently happening in the world”.

After restrictions imposed by the Australian government, the band were forced to reschedule their East Coast capital city shows to mid-late September 2020, while their performance at Big Pineapple Music Festival has been moved to Saturday 21 November.

Since their mid-2013 inception, Bootleg Rascal have released a slew of singles, an EP and two albums, all warmly received by critics and fans around the world. Multiple tracks have been added to Spotify and Apple Music playlists, high rotation on triple j and they’ve performed on the stations esteemed ‘Like a Version’ segment.

The band have continually traversed the globe playing multiple sold out headline shows in France, UK, Holland, Germany, New Zealand and Australia, and performed sold out shows in the USA. They’ve also regularly appeared on major Australian festivals including Falls Festival, The Big Pineapple Festival, Lost Paradise, Hills are Alive, Festival of the Sun and Party in the Paddock.
