After the overwhelming success of Delivered, Live’s inaugural streaming event last weekend, the show has been locked in to return on a weekly basis.  Hosted by sartorial star of stage and screen, Henry Wagons, Delivered, Live has evolved into a more concise 2.5 hour variety show, and will hit the event's YouTube channel this Easter Sunday at 7pm. Further weekly episodes are scheduled for the following nine weekends.   “Diverse streaming gig shines when weirdness faced head-on” SMH   The focus of the show will still be live music, but this will also be supported by sets from local comedians (including a regular appearance by Sami Shah, looking back at the week at the week that was) and expert panel discussions hosted by much loved TV and radio personality Myf Warhurst. Gordi along with the team behind the popular weekend streaming festival Isol-Aid are proud to unveil a special international lunchtime edition of Isol-Aid: Lunch Without Borders. Taking place over 2 hours from 11.30am Australian eastern time this Wednesday, Lunch Without Borders will see 5 artists from around the globe play a short Instagram Live concert for their Australian fans via Isol-Aid’s growing platform. They’ll be joined by 3 local Australian artists throughout the event. Isol-Aid launched 3 weeks ago and has run a live streaming festival over consecutive weekends and has been warmly embraced by the Australian music community. As borders start to close and touring in Australia an impossibility for international artists, Canowindra musician Sophie Payten (aka Gordi) wanted to connect her musician friends abroad with their Australian fans, while expanding the reach of Australian music industry charity Support Act. The curated event will see each artist play 15 minute back to back sets on their own Instagram Live stories, with traffic directed from Isol-Aid’s site and social accounts. The lunchtime concert will feature Tennessee singer and boygenius member Julien Baker. Her first two albums Sprained Ankle and Turn Out The Lights were met with critical acclaim and saw her perform numerous times on US late night TV, collaborate with an impressive list of artists and toured Australia most recently in 2018. Of Monsters And Men’s frontwoman Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir joins the Australian lunchtime event from her wintry home studio late at night in Iceland. With several number one albums in many countries, they recently celebrated the eighth anniversary of their debut album My Head Is An Animal. OMAM were recently out in Australia for Falls Festival over the new year period. Further inland from Nanna’s home in Reykjavik, Iceland is electro-folk falsetto star Asgeir.  Originally due to return to Australia next month, the popular singer released his third album Bury The Moon earlier this year. One in 10 people in Iceland own a copy of his debut album In The Silence. British indie electronic producer-singer Shura comes to us from her newly adopted home in Brooklyn.  Recently fleeing the UK as President Trump threatened to close borders, she made it back to the US just hours before the British travel ban was imposed. Her second album Forevher features the slinky synth pop single “religion”. Staying in New York, Hana Elion and JJ Mitchell make up synth pop duo Overcoats. Recently joining the Loma Vista roster, their recent track “The Fool” showcases the band’s emotionally-led harmonies and passionate delivery, which will no doubt be highlighted in raw acoustic duo format. Joining the overseas visitors for lunch are locals - our host Gordi whose second album Our Two Skins is out in June, as well as Melbourne experimental bedroom pop purveyor Katie Dey in solo piano mode and triple j Unearthed star George Alice who has caught global attention with her streaming hit “Circles”. The live stream will kick off from 11:30am this Wednesday (Aus EST), with each artist playing a 15 minute live set via Instagram Live.  It will be moderated by the Isol-Aid Instagram page where viewers can be directed to the individual artist accounts for each set. Viewers can donate to Support Act, Australia’s leading organisation raising awareness and funding for musicians and arts industry workers suffering from mental illness, injury and other related issues. Delivered, Live Streaming Festival Releases Set Times and Revenue Recipients

by the partae April 3, 2020
written by the partae

The Delivered, Live inaugural streaming festival kicks off at 5pm on Saturday April 4th and organisers are thrilled to reveal the set times for performers, as well as the chosen venues and crew members nominated to receive a portion of the revenue.
The live music industry has taken a huge hit due to cancellations nationwide brought on by the COVID-19 outbreak, with many venues, crew, musicians and other industry workers losing their only source of income. Delivered, Live is a concept set to kick start the live music ecosystem again. A percentage of ticket sales and sponsorship will be directed to one venue and one crew member, nominated by each artist on the bill.
For this week’s event the recipients of those funds are as follows:

Alex Lahey nominates – The Evelyn and Sarah Maidigan
Ali Barter nominates – The Corner Hotel and Chad Halford
Bob Evans nominates – The Workers Club Geelong and Jason Brown
C.W. Stoneking nominates – The Théâtre Royale Castlemaine and Gareth Lindsay
Even nominates – Northcote Social Club and Stuart Morris
Henry Wagons nominates – The Spotted Mallard and Simon Aarons
Teeny Tiny Stevies nominates – Thornbury Theatre and Heath Mckay

Punters can also support the regional wine and brewery industry by ordering a mystery box of wine and beer for $140 from www.deliveredlive.com.au with the contents all produced in the High Country & Gippsland Regions, with funds going directly to the producers.

Delivered Live thanks its sponsors for getting on board this first event –  Victorian Government, Four Pines, The Music, Oztix, Small Time Group, Harry The Hirer.

The event is made possible by The Handshake Agency

Tune in to Delivered Live at 5pm on April 4 at www.deliveredlive.com.au

Friday September 25
Thebarton Theatre, Adelaide

Karnivool’s Sound Awake captured a moment in time when circumstance, influence and individuals collided, restructured and, with a lot of time, pain and joy became elevated above the sum of the parts. A decade and platinum sales have passed the landmark moment in the career of this band who have always gone their own way – meandered when they could have rushed, explored a sonic roadmap forward, then sideways, then backwards. And then forward again.

Sound Awake is an album heavily informed by the art and science of Cymatics and questioning of an ever changing world. From the structured rage of ‘Set Fire to the Hive’, the monster riffing of ‘Goliath’ and the single that was never a single ‘New Day’, Sound Awake is a record full of fan favourites that Kenny, Drew, Hoss, Steve and Jon see as their benchmark.

Attaining worldwide success over this last decade, it launched Karnivool to an intensely loyal, passionate audience that lifted them from an opening act with some interesting tuning to international festival headline act with, well, more interesting tuning in more interesting places… Youngstown, Istanbul, Glasgow, Helsinki, Pune, Bratislava, Auckland, Cape Town, Moscow, Wiesbaden and some place they were told was Chicago, but clearly wasn’t.

With many artists with Australian tours originally scheduled for the first half of 2020, The VANNS have been working hard in adapting to these strange COVID-19 times and have announced that their national Red Eye Tour has been rescheduled to take place in September. The band has been powering through the last year off the back of the release of Through The Walls, wasting no time in continuing to spur on the awesome momentum the album’s release with impressive shows, and a well-received Like A Version cover of Bon Iver’s ‘Hey Ma’ to further display their versatility. THE VANNS announce rescheduled ‘RED EYE TOUR’ dates for September Release official ‘JULES SAID’ video clip

written by the partae

With many artists with Australian tours originally scheduled for the first half of 2020, The VANNS have been working hard in adapting to these strange COVID-19 times and have announced that their national Red Eye Tour has been rescheduled to take place in September.

The band has been powering through the last year off the back of the release of Through The Walls, wasting no time in continuing to spur on the awesome momentum the album’s release with impressive shows, and a well-received Like A Version cover of Bon Iver’s ‘Hey Ma’ to further display their versatility.

The South Coast group has more recently followed up the album’s release with an alternate version of the striking album track, ‘Jules Said’; the music video of which is officially released today! Featuring members of GOSH and Pacific Avenue, the ‘Jules Said’ clip is all about capturing the band’s feel good energy at Wollongong’s Howlin’ Wolf Bar. “We’ve been long time fans and mutual friends of THE VANNS, so when they came to us to produce their next music video, we were thrilled and of course took it on. Written by Jimmy Vann and Cameron Little, this version of ‘Jules Said’ expands upon the original album version, with the band hitting the studio with Grammy nominated, ARIA winning producer Adrian Breakspear (Gang of Youths, Pharrell Williams) to bring it  to life. “Jim and I wrote ‘Jules Said’ in my bedroom in under an hour. Along with the band’s film clip release, fans of The VANNS can be getting around the special vinyl edition of Through The Walls, on sale now. James’ music roots through the reminiscence of Kurt Cobain, Tallest Man on Earth and Hollow Coves. To unwrap the meaning of the album we need to make our way through the deep, thick Scandinavian forest, into the wilderness until we reach front person James, fingerpicking the guitar along with his melancholic vigorous tunes to long for.  James wrote the album “An Ounce of Gold” during his three years of being A Choir Of Ghosts together with Canadian producer Terry Benn, each song displays both his ups as well as the downs, while spending several years trying to find his place in the world.  While his first single “Southwest of The Moon” acted as a letter of apology, both to himself to be stronger and asking forgiveness for the people he have hurt, his latest single “Sinner in Rapture” in James own words deals “the way all young people are set up to fail with the way society is built and how I didn't want to be a part of that capitalist machine”, making “An Ounce of Gold” a diary of the experiences and feelings he went through and that shaped his character. Following the release of the debut album, A Choir Of Ghosts will go on the album release tour in Europe. https://www.facebook.com/achoirofghosts/

One of the biggest names in dance music, Netsky has crafted the highest calibre of electronic anthems for over a decade, spanning countless genres, countries, charts and dancefloors. Now, the Belgian prodigy who cut his teeth on Hospital Records in 2010, is returning to the genre that made him a house-hold name with his first solo D+B record in 5 years, ‘I See The Future In Your Eyes’.   A truly iconic artist for all manner of drum & bass fanatics across the globe, the unprecedented way that Netsky’s music resonates with audiences has never been matched. Having elevated himself to legendary status through tracks such as Pirate Bay, Iron Heart, Come Alive, Rio, Puppy, I Refuse and Drawing Straws, he released 2 D+B LPs during his tenure at Hospital Records and has remixed the likes of Ed Sheeran, Rusko, Jessie J, Plan B, Dua Lipa, Swedish House Mafia and countless more.   His accolades include a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, which was nominated for ‘Mix Of The Year’ in 2010, a ground-breaking and impressive live show which toured globally, and a brace of Top 30 LPs in the UK, with both hitting #1 spot in Belgium. Having performed headline spots at Tomorrowland, Let It Roll, SW4, Reading & Leeds, Printworks and Ultra Music Festival amongst many others, and toured across 6 continents with both a live show and his DJ production, few can match Netsky's extensive and high level touring schedule.   With this single, the sound that so many fell in love with has now returned, and with the future in his eyes with a broader project on the horizon, the best is still yet to come. ‘10 years ago, Hospital Records gave me an opportunity that changed my life and released my first album. In that 10 years I’ve been lucky enough to release 2 more albums, many singles and EP’s and toured all over the world. I've been blessed to work with amazing artists, producers and writers and experiment with different genres and influences. Over the last year I have found myself naturally coming back to producing Drum & Bass, and made perfect sense to me to release it with the label where it all began back in 2010. I can’t wait for everyone to hear what we’ve been working on, and I’m excited to kick it all off with this single.’ - Netsky.   ‘I’m delighted to be working on a brand new record with Netsky, especially in the 10 year anniversary of his Hospital debut. Boris has always been family to us, and his music is a special feature of our (almost) 25 year long catalogue… we can’t wait to unveil his brand new drum & bass in the coming months.” - Chris Goss (Co-founder of Hospital Records).

Music and comedy lovers across the country who have seen tours, festivals and live shows cancelling in recent weeks can look forward to a new festival this weekend, and they can enjoy it all from the comfort of their own homes!
Featuring acclaimed solo artists Alex Lahey,  Bob Evans, (Jedediah front man Kevin Mitchell), Ali Barter, Henry Wagons, indie favourites Even and internationally acclaimed blues singer C.W. Stoneking. As well as this there will be something for the kids with the Teeny Tiny Stevies.
They’ll be joined by four talented local comedians including Andy Saunders and Sami Shah for a night of live entertainment connecting Victorians through music, comedy, inspiring stories and advice from experts on dealing with isolation.

Streaming is free, although viewers will be encouraged to make a donation by purchasing a ticket through Oztix to view the stream which will help support the creative industries impacted by the coronavirus, including artists, managers, sound engineers and support staff. Tailored beverage packs from bushfire impacted regional wineries will also be on sale for delivery to enjoy during the festival.

Compounding the bushfires which hurt many regional communities, coronavirus social distancing measures means these towns are further isolated, making it harder to raise funds and continue the rebuilding and recovery efforts.
Regional towns across the country impacted by bushfires, drought and the ongoing coronavirus restrictions will be able to enjoy a night of live streaming music and comedy to help connect communities during these trying times.
Minister for Regional Development Jaclyn Symes welcomed the announcement of the Delivered, Live Streaming Festival with a host of music and comedy acts streaming live performances to regional communities all over Australia.

The Delivered, Live Streaming Festival has been launched in partnership with Handshake Agency and will be the first live streaming festival in support of our regional communities.
The stream will go live at 5pm on Saturday 4 April at www.deliveredlive.com.au with tickets available via Oztix

Quotes attributable to Minister for Regional Development Jaclyn Symes
“We’re committed to supporting our regional communities in staying connected during these unprecedented times and the Delivered, Live Streaming Festival will be a fun and engaging online event to support our regions and create a feeling of togetherness.”

“The Delivered, Live Streaming Festival will be a wonderful way for all Victorians to support our regional communities impacted by the bushfires and coronavirus, while providing vital funds for the creative arts industry.”

Quotes attributable to Handshake Agency Leigh Treweek
“ Delivered, Live is designed to not be a charity but to directly support those who bring you live music each and every week at venues across the country. The gigs we present over the coming weeks will allow the punters to buy virtual tickets to support the live music industry, We are excited to present the first event alongside the Victorian Government and congratulate Minister Symes for recognising the value of the creative industries in supporting regional Victorians”

DANA GAVANSKI DEBUT ALBUM ‘YESTERDAY IS GONE’ IS NOW AVAILABLE VIA FLEMISH EYE RECORDS

by the partae March 30, 2020
written by the partae

In the midst of the world’s lockdown we are all forced to refocus after our daily lives have in many ways been put on hold. Many artists have had to change their plans around their album releases, from the buzz of touring, to now having to stay at home in isolation. Thankfully we live in a digital age where we are able to stay connected and continue to share the beautiful music that these artists work tirelessly to create for our enjoyment.

Over here at Flemish Eye Records we are very excited to be working with Serbian-Canadian musician Dana Gavanski and today we are celebrating her debut album, Yesterday Is Gone, which is now available on all streaming platforms. Fans in Canada can order copies of the record on classic black vinyl from the Flemish Eye shop while we wait for our local record stores to reopen.

“Authoritative debut ” (8/10)  – UNCUT

“Yesterday Is Gone shines as it dips, an anchor during a time of transition.” (9/10) – Exclaim!

“Her honeyed vocals tiptoe around whimsical lyricism about the changing of the seasons and the slow burn of time” – Beatroute

And if you missed it last month, watch Dana’s video for the album’s title track “Yesterday Is Gone” filmed in the colourful and retro underground of Montreal’s metro system. https://youtu.be/8xM8SJrxYeI

By turns break-up album, project of curiosity, and, as Dana puts it, “a reckoning with myself,” Yesterday Is Gone is an album of longing and devotion to longing, and of the uncertainty that arises from learning about oneself, of pushing boundaries, falling hard, and getting back up.  Moments of beguilement splinter a backdrop of tenderly picked guitar, bass, synth, and poppier elements, which commune to produce her own kind of wall of sound. Each component is meticulously placed, yielding a deeply sincere response to the chaos of human emotion.

Yesterday Is Gone was co-produced between Dana, Toronto-based musician Sam Gleason, and Mike Lindsay (Tunng and LUMP w/ Laura Marling). While Sam helped Dana bring out the tunes, Mike’s input marked the beginning of developing Dana’s sound. The two kept stripped it down to the essentials, keeping things bare and letting the songs speak for themselves. The album shapeshifted as it passed through the hands of Dana, Sam, and Mike, taking on different tastes, feelings, and visions. When Dana performed the songs with a band, they found new form again. She was intrigued by performers like David Bowie and Aldous Harding, who inhabit different personalities on stage, physically tuning themselves to their music.

“Often we have to go a little far in one direction to learn something about ourselves,” Dana says. The months of solitary writing and self-doubt testify to this, but they’ve led to Yesterday Is Gone: an optimistic, steely-eyed gaze into the future.

DIDIRRI reschedules AU tour dates, releases new single "Don't fight with what you're fighting for"
Festival NewsMusic News

Reschedules Australian tour dates for November, and gifts you new music with single “Don’t fight with what you’re fighting for”

by the partae March 29, 2020

Didirri will also be performing live on Instagram as part of the Global Citizen ‘Together At Home’ series this Sunday at 12pm AEDT. More details below.

Melbourne’s Didirri today announces the rescheduling of his upcoming Australian headline tour, which was due to take place across the country throughout April. The new tour dates will now take place in the same venues throughout November.

He wishes to convey his sadness of not being able to play any new music live for his fans right now, but also advises people to support the strict ethos of self-isolating and minimising unnecessary public contact at this horrible time.

As a gift and consolation for fans, Didirri has also given us new music, stating “if music is all I have to give you right now, then that’s what I will do”.

“Don’t fight with what you’re fighting for“ was written at his home in Melbourne over a year ago, and recorded later in Johanna, Victoria. The song serves as a comment, but also a reminder, that positive change has to first come from yourself. Hold yourself accountable before you do those around you.
Or as Didirri explains, “To put it bluntly: you fix the world by fixing your own shit”

“There is no point trying to tackle something on a big scale, if you can’t stick to your morals and lead by example.”
As everything shuts down – events and festivals cancelled, venues empty, jobs in jeopardy, a whole music and arts community thrown into uncertainty… It’s a poignant reminder to focus on the small things you can do, and how they affect the people around you.
It’s also a reminder that, no matter what, we still have music. Songs will still be written, stories still shared, heartbreak and joy still soundtracked, music is still the glue that brings us all together.
The video embraces that message, with a whole stack of fellow musicians (Vance Joy, Montaigne, Client Liaison, Odette, Meg Mac, Kira Puru, Alex The Astronaut + more), as well as industry colleagues, friends and loved ones from all over the world sending in clips of them coming together to (virtually) sing the chorus.
(Didirri) “I wanted to bring together the lovers and over thinkers in my community, from around the world. I hope this brings you some joy and positivity in such a strange time.

Remember, don’t lose heart, we’re in this together. “
You can tune in and watch Didirri perform the new single, along with a bunch of other favs as he goes live on his Instagram (@Didirri_) this Sunday March 29th at 12pm AEDT as part of the Global Citizen ‘Together At Home’ series – a virtual musical experience to unify people around the world when they may feel isolated by the conditions of COVID-19.

Chris Martin (Coldplay), Global Citizen Festival Curator, kicked this off in an effort to unite humanity at a time when many may feel isolated at home and inspire people to take meaningful action to help stop coronavirus. John Legend, Charlie Puth, Niall Horan, Common, One Republic, Shawn Mendes + Camila Cabello, Hozier + many more have performed live on their Instagram from their own homes, and Didirri is excited to be next in line to share his music, and connect and inspire viewers through this amazing initiative. Tune in on Sunday here.

“Don’t fight with what you’re fighting for” is out now on all streaming platforms via Unified / Nettwerk.

Ticketholders will be contacted directly via their show’s authorised ticketing agency regarding these date changes; steps will be provided should the Jan-Feb dates not suit.

Frontier Touring and Marc Rebillet sincerely apologise to any ticketholders affected by the rescheduling and thank fans for their understanding and support in these unprecedented circumstances.

Limited tickets remain in all cities to Marc Rebillet’s rescheduled tour dates, on sale now via frontiertouring.com/marcrebillet

Laneway Presents, Chugg Entertainment & Frontier Touring wish to advise that Tame Impala will be rescheduling the Australian and New Zealand leg of their upcoming tour to December 2020.   The shows, originally planned to be held in April, are no longer able to go ahead due to the current COVID-19 crisis and subsequent Government directives, limiting the size of public gatherings in both Australia and New Zealand.   Tame Impala’s December run will begin at Auckland’s Spark Arena on Saturday 5 December and continue through Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. Tickets for all shows are available now.   It is with regret that the promoters advise special guests Khruangbin were not available to join Tame Impala on their rescheduled December dates. A new support will be announced in the near future.   Ticketholders are encouraged to hold onto their tickets (#KeepYourTicket); all tickets will be valid for the corresponding rescheduled dates. Patrons who are unable to attend the rescheduled shows will be entitled to a full refund from their authorised point of purchase.   Laneway Presents, Chugg Entertainment and Frontier Touring apologise to any ticketholders who are inconvenienced by these rescheduled dates and thank fans for their support and understanding during these unprecedented circumstances.   One of Australia’s greatest musical exports, Tame Impala released their latest album ‘THE SLOW RUSH’ last month. The record was triple j’s Feature Album on release, with the band delivering stunning renditions of album tracks ‘Lost In Yesterday’ and ‘Breathe Deeper’ on Jimmy Kimmel Live! earlier this month. In a huge coup, Tame Impala claimed Number 1 on triple j’s Hottest 100 of the Decade countdown in March, with their 2015 track ‘The Less I Know The Better’.
