ANNOUNCE SPECIAL GUESTS GYROSCOPE (FREMANTLE)
+ EAT YOUR HEART OUT (BRISBANE/ADELAIDE)

Headed back to Australia in March 2020 for their first live shows in three years are Arizona rockers Jimmy Eat World, who recently released their acclaimed tenth studio album, Surviving. The Jim Adkins-led outfit delivered their most personal, ambitious record to date with their latest listen, Surviving voted by Kerrang as one of 2019’s ‘50 Albums That Set Your World Ablaze’.

Adelaide fans: get in quick to secure your tickets, with the band’s show at The Gov on Monday 23 March almost sold out!

Jimmy Eat World will perform three headline solo shows while in AU, kicking the tour off at Metropolis in Fremantle on Monday 16 March, followed by The Tivoli, Brisbane on Thursday 19 March, and then wrapping up in Adelaide. They’ll also perform in Sydney and Melbourne as part of the Download Festival (not Frontier shows).

Touched by our recent bushfire crisis, Jimmy Eat World are also lending their support during their upcoming shows:

“Australia is one of our favourite places to play in the world and the fans there are second to none. What is happening with the fires this season is heartbreaking and in addition to hopefully bringing some joy to those who attend our shows, we will be lending our time and resources in any way possible to the relief efforts.”

The band has designed a new T-shirt which will be available on tour and is currently available on their webstore, with proceeds going to Red Cross Australia.

Today, Frontier Touring announce the addition of two special guests on the bill:

Joining in Fremantle is red hot WA legends Gyroscope. The four-piece delivered a slew of triple j classics in the late ‘90s/early 00’s: think ‘Baby, I’m Getting Better’, ‘Snakeskin’, and ‘Fast Girl’… With 7 x Hottest 100 entries between 2003-2010, the band were quickly a staple of Australia’s festival scene, playing two Big Day Outs, Groovin The Moo, Splendour In The Grass and plenty more. Gyroscope earned nine WAMi awards, 3.4 million+ streams on Spotify, a #1 album in Breed Obsession, all before stirring it up again six months ago when they dropped EP 4YRLV . Now, they’ll appear as special guest of Jimmy Eat World – fun fact, who they played with in 2003!

In Brisbane and Adelaide, Jimmy Eat World will be joined by fast rising Newcastle five-piece Eat Your Heart Out, who recently smashed it as part of the line-up for UNIFY Gathering (catch a glimpse of that here). Early 2019 saw the release of the band’s debut album Florescence, out via Fearless Records. The quintet – Caitlin Henry (vocals), Andrew Anderson (guitar), Will Moore (guitar), Dom Cant (bass), and Jake Cronin (drums) – showcase a searing power on tracks like ‘Carousel’ and ‘Closer To The Sun’, earning over 2.7m streams on Spotify in 2019 and rising.

Soothsayer are delighted to reveal Willaris. K (Jack McAllister)’s latest single ‘INDIFFERENT’, the Australian electronic and ambient producer’s first-ever track to incorporate vocals, featuring Australian singer, songwriter and producer, Gordi (Sophie Payten). Premiered overnight via triple j Good Nights, ‘INDIFFERENT (WITH GORDI)’ is a harrowing and dramatic track that marks a transformative sonic turn for Willaris, showcasing his intrinsic ability to harness emotion through complex musical composition. Grounded in piano movements and melodic basslines, Willaris has built a textured and emotive soundscape that perfectly complements the haunting vocals the Bon Iver and Troye Sivan collaborator is famous for. The track was originally conceived at Willaris' home in NSW, then fine-tuned on Sophie’s farm in rural Australia, and finally perfected alongside renowned Sigur Ros collaborator and film composer Alex Somers at Shangri La Studios in Malibu, inside Bob Dylan’s iconic old tour bus.    "I wrote the instrumental as an experiment to see where I could take my music sonically. I wanted to explore it for film but also explore the more vulnerable side of Willaris. K. I melted when Sophie started singing the first line when we were recording." – Willaris. K   Gordi’s ability to make intensely emotional music is something the singer, songwriter and producer has mastered. With an impressive list of collaborations to her name, including Troye Sivan, Bon Iver, Julien Baker and The Tallest Man On Earth, her debut album, Reservoir (out through Jagjaguwar) was nominated for triple j's 'Album of the Year' in 2017.    “Jack and I talked about collaborating when we were lying on the floor of the living room in my apartment listening to music at 5am. The next day he sent me this song titled ‘Piano Man’. It had the beautiful piano part you hear in the song and it made me so sad. So I wrote a sad story to go with it about feeling nothing and called it ‘Indifferent’.”  - Gordi ‘INDIFFERENT’ follows Willaris’ last release, the A and B-side record ‘5 O’CLOCK’ - which was recently selected as the feature track for the UEFA Champions League recap commercial, airing across BT Sports TV channels internationally as well as online and mobile platforms, and its ambient counterpart ‘PAST LIGHT’, which is a testament to Willaris’ textural sound and early days collecting field recordings in Australia. Earlier this month, Willaris released a collection of atmospheric remixes of ‘5 O’CLOCK’ from rising electronica artists TSHA, Ghost Culture and Juno Mamba – listen here. The 2019/20 Australian Summer has already seen Willaris. K perform to packed-out dance tents at major festivals including Wildlands, Beyond The Valley, Output Super Club, Origin Fields and Castaway, after supporting RÜFÜS DU SOL on their SOLACE World Tour. In light of the recent bushfires in Australia, Willaris is playing a benefit show at Melbourne’s Seaworks on Sunday 9 February, where he will be waiving performance fees and donating all merch proceeds to the Fire Relief Fund for First Nations Communities.  ‘INDIFFERENT’ sees Willaris. Credit: Ivana Martyn-Zyznikow In the lead up to his much-anticipated appearance on Eurovision: Australia Decides on February 8th, Didirri has kicked off the new year with new single and video for "Raw Stuff", and announces a run of tour dates starting in April, and taking the Melbourne songwriter up and down the East Coast of Australia through to May. True to its name, "Raw Stuff" captures an unspoken, universal experience. It’s a song about a time when two people that, despite the closeness, are unable to open up to each other. Fortunately, the story and the song both find a resolution: "For the first time in my life, I was skipping Christmas. I was feeling very, very guilty about it. My passion for creative work had taken over too much of my life, so there I was, on the other side of the planet." Didirri says. "Though I was pursuing my creative goals, I was far from my family and friends. It was difficult to open up to someone I cared about back home. I couldn’t explain the mixed bag of emotions that was weighing me down so I gave up on the song quickly. It didn’t feel finished. Two years later I’m in the studio… the phone rings and it’s the person I had felt cut off from that year I skipped Christmas. They said they had felt the same, and had found it hard to open up as well. And that they were skipping Christmas this year. I instantly remembered the half-written song I never finished, and suddenly it all made sense. Part two. Raw Stuff instantly falls into two parts. The first half is my side of miscommunication, and the second my reaction to hearing they felt the same." Raw Stuff was written and later recorded in Johanna, Victoria. In November, Didirri was drawn to return to the same space once more to shoot the music video. The stunning landscape around the house, provides a poignant depiction of the beauty of nature, the complexity of returning home, and the rawness we feel when landscapes and relationships once familiar are no longer the same. "As we all watched our beautiful landscapes around Johanna, the sister towns not that far away were burning a few weeks after in December.   To hear of so many people losing their homes, of lives lost (both people and animals) broke our hearts while editing. We found that the more we went on, the more of that landscape needed to be included." Produced by Dann Hume and Hayden Calnin, "Raw Stuff" will be available on digital platforms from today, Thursday January 30th via UNIFIED, and will be performed live on the SBS broadcast of Eurovision: Australia Decides on Feb 8th. After releasing his debut EP "Measurements" just last year, Didirri has had a massive 12 months. From a collective 30 million streams, to playing Splendour In The Grass, to having 4x singles added to triple j rotation, to packing his bag and touring the US and UK twice in under 6 months. As well as playing The Great Escape Festival in Brighton, Latitude Festival in Suffolk, and Primavera Sounds in Barcelona, Didirri also played a series of shows across Europe only to return home to sell out multiple tours across Australia, including 170 Russell, and 2x Corner Hotel shows which he filmed and recorded for an intimate Live EP. The achievements are impressive and humbling, and ultimately highlight that no matter the language, the location, the age, on a small stage or large, there’s something about Didirri’s music that connects with people in a really special way. His lyrics open the door usher you into his mind, connecting with listeners on a level rarely seen in modern music. For their 25th anniversary Loveland plans a 4-star hotel takeover with exclusive afterparties, rooftop BBQ, hangover breakfast and more. Over 75 artists will make their way to Amsterdam in August for what is shaping up to be a huge 25th anniversary year for the long-running promoter. Since day one the stunning Sloterpark in the Dutch capital serves as a stunning backdrop for the 2-day festival weekender. Ever since 1995, the driving force behind the Loveland organisation has been the endless love for quality house and techno music. In 2020 this still serves as a guiding principle when it comes to the artist lineup. The well-balanced lineup features leading global artists such as Diynamic head honcho Solomun, Afterlife founders Tale Of Us, Detroit legend Jeff Mills and the highly praised Dixon. Making his comeback at Loveland Festival is the illustrious Eric Prydz. Joining the list of headliners are UK-ace Jamie Jones, widely respected duo Adriatique, seasoned veteran Richie Hawtin, the charismatic Loco Dice and hard hitters like Chris Liebing, Rødhåd and Dave Clarke. Fans of a more melodic, progressive sound can indulge themselves with the return of Hernan Cattaneo, Sasha, Guy J, Guy Mantzur together with Dutchies Miss Melera and Olivier Weiter. There is no shortage of Dutch powerhouses with pioneers Speedy J, Joris Voorn and Secret Cinema. Representing the new generation are Egbert, VNTM and Ferro. Fueled by the love for music, the festival has a long history of quality live performances. Stephan Bodzin, Agents of Time, Mathew Jonson, Kollektiv Turmstrasse and Booka Shade will be on live act duties in 2020. To top it all off Kevin Saunderson’s Inner City will take the stage for some big fun with a special live performance.  Over the 25-year history, many artists grew to be long-time fan favorites at Loveland. The likes of Sébastien Léger, Aril Brikha, Arjuna Schiks, Remy, Dimitri, Michel de Hey, Melon, Vince Watson and Benny Rodrigues to name just a few. One stage will be dedicated to all of Loveland’s legacy artists. On Saturday this will be a live-only stage and on Sunday it’s strictly back-to-back sets. As a special surprise, Loveland announced this week that it will take over a 4-star hotel during the festival weekend. Nestled right in between the old Amsterdam city center and the festival grounds, overlooking the green oasis of Sloterpark, the hotel offers spacious rooms fitted with all modern conveniences, a rooftop Skybar with a panoramic view of Amsterdam. The hotel package offers an experience of Loveland Festival like never before.  Visitors can add to the fun with alluring upgrades like a Rooftop BBQ, hangover breakfast and exclusive afterparties or really hit it out of the park with the all-in Golden Package including 2-day backstage access for the festival. Single day and Weekend tickets for the festival are on sale, as are the hotel packages. For the full lineup of Loveland Festival, tickets and more information, visit www.loveland.nl. Chastity Belt and Loose Tooth have shared a "digital split single" today featuring new material from both acts: Chastity Belt's A Side 'The Process' and Loose Tooth's B side 'Lonely.' Both tracks are available to download or stream worldwide from Hardly Art records and Milk! Records in Australia/New Zealand.  Fifty percent of Bandcamp sales for either track will benefit Australian wildfire relief efforts, specifically the Country Fire Authority and Fire Relief Fund for First Nations Communities. Chastity Belt and Loose Tooth hit the road together for a run of North American shows starting Tuesday 4 February. Upon the bands return, Loose Tooth will launch their new single 'Lonely' at The Curtin in Melbourne on Friday 13 March.  Of 'The Process,' Chastity Belt songwriter Lydia Lund explains, "The lyrics came later and are a sort of reminder of the way self-criticism can compound. When I’m in that critical state of mind, I try to suspend judgement for that current state and I find it reassuring to remember that it’s temporary - a process." As for 'Lonely.' Loose Tooth says, "We wrote ‘Lonely’ at the end of 2019. It is about an experience we witnessed when we were teenagers. #MeToo brought up a lot of realizations for many people, and for us; thinking back to us as young and vulnerable women, finishing high school and feeling invincible; we didn't realize that we could be taken advantage of by predatory and powerful men. ‘Lonely’ is about the power dynamics and manipulation of these relationships, and the lasting cycle of trauma that they can bring." THE GLOW was recorded and mixed by multiple Grammy award winning producer Stuart Price (The Killers, New Order, Madonna) First single ‘Silver’ is the band's fastest streaming song to date + came in at #20 in triple j’s hottest 100 DMA’S recently supported Liam Gallagher on his UK Arena tour The band's March Brixton Academy show sold out in less than 24 hours + sold over 40k tickets on their last headline UK tour Platinum records for ‘Delete’ and ‘Believe’ (Cher Cover). Gold records for ‘In The Air’, ‘Lay Down’, ‘Step Up The Morphine’ Currently touring Laneway festival I OH YOU are thrilled to announce DMA’S third studio album THE GLOW will be released into the world on Friday 24 April, recorded and mixed by multiple Grammy Award winning producer Stuart Price. Today, the Sydney trio share the second cut from the album – the dark yet euphoric track ‘Life Is A Game Of Changing’. Premiered overnight via triple j Good Nights and Radio 1 in the UK, ‘Life Is A Game Of Changing’ is an unexpected change of pace. Inspired by early 90s rave culture, the track is a nod to bands like Underworld, The Prodigy, Orbital and The Chemical Brothers, and furthers DMA’S incorporation of digital beats and sequencers in their songwriting process. Sitting in striking contrast to the song’s repetitive structure, ‘Life Is A Game Of Changing’ is about humanity’s struggle to be adaptable - as creatures who are fundamentally resistant to change. Breaking away from the minimalist electronica movement, the track features unapologetically busy beatscapes, a driving 4/4 pace and an adrenaline-pumping chorus showcasing Tommy O’Dell’s signature euphoric vocals. The accompanying video, directed by Bill Bleakley, was shot in Thailand and features locals from the area. VIDEO: 'Life Is A Game Of Changing' by DMA'S We filmed the clip like a documentary, with a tiny crew. For me, this clip feels like a snapshot in time for this group of friends. - Bill Bleakley First single from the record ‘Silver’ is the band’s fastest streaming song to date, with over 4 million streams in just three months and peaking at #34 on Spotify UK’s Viral 50 Chart and #50 on Australia’s Viral 50. The track has seen BBC Radio 1 plays, was named Record of the Week at Radio X and was added to the Radio X & Absolute Radio Daytime Playlist, and Evening List at Virgin Radio UK. Locally, the track was the #1 most played on triple j over the summer and has seen strong support across the Triple M and the HIT networks. ‘Silver’ and ‘Life Is A Game Of Changing’ set the scene for what is promising to be a monumental album from DMA’S. Recorded at Westlake Studios in West Hollywood and Rak Studios London, THE GLOW is a contemporary pop record that sees the band fulfill their world class potential with a collection of songs that are destined for arenas. From their emotive heart to their towering, anthemic hooks, the core traits that have earned the band a growing global following are all in place. But with the help of Price, DMA’S have elevated both sides of their sonic spectrum to new heights and one thing is certain: this is the most fully realised of the band’s three albums to date. DMA’S have had a whirlwind six years since exploding onto the scene in 2014 with their debut single ‘Delete’. They have released two critically acclaimed albums - Hills End (2016) and For Now (2018) – both of which charted Top 10 in the ARIA Charts and resulted in ARIA nominations for Best Group, Best Rock Album and Best Independent Release. Forging their reputation abroad, the latter earned a #13 chart position in the UK as well as festival slots at Coachella, Lollapalooza, Glastonbury and Reading and Leeds festivals. 2019 saw the Sydney natives play sold out shows across the UK and Ireland, support Liam Gallagher’s UK arena tour and sell 5 thousand tickets to their March 2020 Brixton Academy show in less than 24 hours. Back home they scored a Platinum record for ‘Delete’ plus Gold discs for ‘Lay Down’ and ‘Step Up The Morphine’. This year, the band will play Manchester’s Sounds of the City festival headlining the 8 thousand capacity Castlefield Bowl on 9 July (with tickets selling out in a couple of hours), before embarking on their UK album tour - which will see them play their biggest London headline show to date at Alexandra Palace in October, as well as a sold out Australian bushfire benefit gig to raise funds for Wildlife Victoria. As we enter the new decade, DMA’S are cementing themselves as a powerhouse act no longer on the brink of blowing up, but basking in the international spotlight. The band will be treating home crowds to new music at Laneway Festival in Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne and Fremantle over the coming weeks. Taking place on Sunday June 7th at Brixton's beautiful Brockwell Park and offering a wealth of street food, craft beer immersive workshops, talks and much more, Cross The Tracks has already announced a peerless mix of funk, soul, disco, jazz, r&b, and house stars from across the ages including Sister Sledge, Tinariwen, Gilles Peterson, Norman Jay MBE, Nu Guinea, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, Chris Dave & The Drumhedz and Theon Cross amongst tens more. The carefully assembled Cross The Tracks is set to be an all encompassing day out for lovers of real music, great food and contemporary culture. It mixes up the original pioneers with artists from today's vanguard in a beautiful setting that is ripe for exploring thanks to its rolling green lushness, ornamental ponds, formal flower beds and wealth of top class street food vendors, craft beer brewers and bespoke bars, luxury toilets for VIP access, chill out and wellness areas, art fair, panels, creative markets and plenty more to nourish your entire being.  The first of these new names couldn't be bigger: Madlib is a giant of the hip-hop world who will play a special back-to-back set with Gilles Peterson. From recent collaborations with Freddie Gibb to cult albums like Madvillany with MF Doom, his jazz remixes on Shades of Blue Note or genre-defining albums as Quasimoto, Madlib has taken hip-hop to its highest heights. His ability to craft beats and lay down instrumentals is second to none and for that reason he is one of the most critically acclaimed in the game. He is a DJ first and foremost, so this show should especial indeed.  Joining him will be the likes of Stones Throw artist Sudan Archives, the hugely innovative violin player who mixes her playing with beautifully melancholic soul and hip-hop. There will also be a show from South London experimentalist Laura Misch, who is defining new soundworlds with her saxophone, synths and vocals.  There will be an in-the-know focus on the exciting emerging r&b and neo-soul scene, too, with acts driving things forward like Biig Piig, Sasha Keable, Charlotte Dos Santos and Collard all playing, plus hotly tipped London star Greentea Peng, who has a look as unique as her candid, immersive sound. The booming contemporary jazz scene will also be well represented by Neue Grafik Ensemble and SEED Ensemble, who are bringing fresh perspectives as well as compelling grooves to their productions and live shows which are hybrids of house, jazz and hip-hop.  Steam Down also line up and are a London collective who have supported Kamasi Washington, picked up two Jazz FM awards, appeared on Jools Holland, headlined their own UK and EU tours and brought real spontaneity to the jazz scene.  There will also be hip-hop from High Focus star Coops, a widescreen array from NTS's legendary Breakfast Show host Charlie Bones, lo-fi bliss from super smooth Washington, D.C. singer Dreamcast, and soul stirring sounds from London African Gospel Choir who will be performing Paul Simon's Graceland, as well as a smorgasbord of disco brilliance from famously deep digging Chicago originator Sadar Bahar.   These latest additions are another bold statement that make Cross The Tracks the capital's most essential day of music, culture and good times.  Sister Sledge Madlib b2b Gilles Peterson Tinariwen Shabaka & The Ancestors Biig Piig Sudan Archives Steam Down Greentea Peng Norman Jay Jazzie B (Soul II Soul)  Nu Guinea (Live) Sadar Bahar  Hypnotic Brass Ensemble   Chris Dave & The Drumhedz Channel One Ashley Henry London African Gospel Choir  Sasha Keable Theon Cross  Jaz Karis Lynda Dawn  Jamz Supernova Coops  Charlotte Dos Santos Laura Misch Pip Millett Neue Grafik Ensemble SEED Ensemble  Charlie Bones (NTS) Shy One Tash LC Aaron Taylor Collard Dreamcast Chloe Bodur Shunaji Sarah Meth Isabelle Brown + many more

There will also be hip-hop from High Focus star Coops, a widescreen array from NTS’s legendary Breakfast Show host Charlie Bones, lo-fi bliss from super smooth Washington, D.C. singer Dreamcast, and soul stirring sounds from London African Gospel Choir who will be performing Paul Simon’s Graceland, as well as a smorgasbord of disco brilliance from famously deep digging Chicago originator Sadar Bahar.

These latest additions are another bold statement that make Cross The Tracks the capital’s most essential day of music, culture and good times.
